Biography

Mark Hopkins was born on 29 Jun 1779 in Great Barrington, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, and his parents were Anna (Whiting) and Moses Hopkins. [1]

Mark Hopkins married on 19 Oct 1800 in Great Barrington, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, USA to his cousine, Anastasia Lukens Kellogg. [1]

In 1805 he moved his family from Great Barrington to Henderson, New York, USA. [1]

Captain of Volunteers during War of 1812 and a state representative

In 1824 he moved his family to St.Clair, Michigan, USA [1] where he was a storekeeper. [2]

In St Clair he was Judge of Probate and Postmaster

He died about 1825 in St.Clair, St.Clair County, Michigan, USA.
