Biography

James Hapkinson was born on 2 January 1816 in Bury, Lancashire, England, the son of John Hopkinson and Jenny (Nuttall) Hopkinson.^[1]

He was baptised on 25 February 1816 in Bury, St Mary the Virgin, Lancashire.^[2][3]

When James was 22 he married Harriet Smith on 14 October 1838 in Bolton le Moors, St Peter, Lancashire.^[4]

In the 1841 census James was living in Whalley, Lancashire.^[5]

In the 1851 census James was living in Bury, Lancashire.^[1]

In the 1861 census James was living in Manchester, Lancashire.^[6]

James died at the age of 56 on 15 May 1872 in Lancashire.^[7][8][9]
