Martha married David Greenberry Carpenter (born in 1830; son of David Carpenter and Rosannah (Childers) Carpenter).[2] Their children were:
- Jesse Hill Carpenter (1858–1936)
- Silas Abernathy Carpenter (1860–1942)
- Martha Elizabeth Carpenter (1865–>1885)
