Research Notes
The parish register for Donhead St Mary lists a Rebecca, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Horder, baptized 18 July 1756. This was four years before Thomas married Elizabeth Cutler. Could this be the same Thomas, but married to a different Elizabeth? Possibly. The records show that a Thomas Horder of Donhead St Mary and Betty Small of East Orchard, Dorset, were married in Mebury Abbas, Dorset, on 26 Dec. 1753.
[4]
(Betty was a common nickname for Elizabeth.) A problem with this theory is that the marriage banns for Thomas's marriage to Elizabeth Cutler lists him as a bachelor.
