Hi, A!

Thank you for your participation in October 2020’s Source-a-thon. Your contributions helped us to clear over 57,000 profiles that needed sourcing. This makes our Shared Tree all that much better.

Keep up the great work!

Hello, A!

Thanks for the work you accomplished during our Connect-A-Thon 2020. It is amazing how many more profiles were created and added to our Shared Tree over the weekend. I hope you’ll join us for the Source-a-thon this fall.

Kind regards,

Pippin Sheppard ~ WikiTree’s Appreciation Team

I just wanted to touch base and see if I can help with your Horn side tree.

I'm the Ludwig (Lewis) Horn was my Great, Great Grandfather. I have Ludwig's immigration papers as well as a number of other documents from the family. Having just joined this site I'm not quite sure how we interact but I'm happy to give you my direct email if that helps. Take care and talk soon, Daniel Victor Horn II

Hi Dan! Welcome to WikiTree! I added you (I think . . . fingers crossed that I did it right) to the Trusted list for Ludwig, and also for John and Alvin Victor Horn (which I think is your line, correct?). That should allow you to add info to their profiles. Hope you enjoy the site! Check out the Horn One Name Study too if you are interested.

Welcome to the Connectors Project! Be sure to check out the Connectors project page to see some of what we do, our To-Do lists which have folks who need connected to our Global Tree, and please add the connectors tag to your G2G feed. We've also got a great sub-project, Connectors Chat, where we talk about what we're working on and where we'd like to help out. If you're new to making connections and want some simplified connections to work on, look at our Connecting Buddies page. Thanks for joining us!

Thanks for your note, A.

I'm glad you are enjoying WikiTree and taking your time getting to know the site. I wish that all new members showed the wisdom that you have regarding GEDCOMs.

After you get a good feel for WikiTree, you'll have an idea whether your GEDCOM would have sources etc. If it does, you can upload again to add more profiles. The main thing that the GEDCOM will save is having to type what you already have. You can read more about it in the GEDCOMpare process tutorial prepared by one of our Mentors.

Hi A,

This is a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far?

I see that you deleted your GEDCOM. Do you have questions about the GEDCOMpare process?

Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful? Most of us still have some questions after reviewing them.

I'm here to help with issues and questions about how WikiTree works. Click my name to send me a private message or ask in the comment section of my page.

PS If you get a "Page Not Found" error when clicking WikiTree email links, you can often find a working version in the public comments on your profile.

Hi A

How is it going so far. were the How-Tos pages helpful or did they leave you with questions?

Please ensure location data matches date of profile, avoid abbreviations, they cause confusion. Add full citations & links for sources as you go. From a profile wiki ID go to Research to find sources or to suggestion to review profiles in need of work

We want to help you learn about the site and the community, so hopefully you found all the different elements useful. I have page one, bookmarked as a reference page.

Questions click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

P.S. If links do not work in an email from WikiTree, try them from the comment section of your profile page

Hi A.,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Thank you A for volunteering, You are now a full member of the Wikitree community. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Please start with the How-Tos - they are really useful as you add profiles and learn your way around

If you click the green tags on your profile page, you'll see if other members are following the tag. Add more surnames, locations, Country, County or town tags to improve links to community & research options

To add tags click editing your tags

Take your time, if you need any help using the site, let me know
