Biography

Francis was born in 1860^[1] in Swineshead, Lincolnshire, England. He was the son of Henry Horn and Mary Ann Thorp. Francis's mother died in 1867.^[2] In 1871 Francis lived in Swineshead with his father and stepmother.^[3]

At the time of the 1881 census Francis (or Frank) worked as a horsekeeper and lodged with the Allen family in Swineshead.^[4]

Francis married Betsy Stubley in Swineshead in 1882.^[5][6] Francis worked as an agricultural labourer and the family lived in Swineshead.^[7][8] By 1911 he was a licensed beer seller.^[9] In 1939 he was a "retired innkeeper" and Betsy carried out "unpaid domestic duties."^[1]

Francis died in 1945 at the age of 85.^[10][11]
