Biography

Barbara (Hornback) Schermerhorn was part of the Low Dutch Settlements in Kentucky, 1780-1810



Barbara was born about 1779 in Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Simon Hornback and Margaret Alkire. She passed away about 1850.

She married Nathaniel Schermerhorn about 1795.

Nathaniel and his wife Barbara were residing in Clark County, Kentucky in 1798 when they served as court appointed guardians for David Wilson, underage son of Joseph Wilson, deceased.[1]

She was a widow (age 70) and head of household in the 1850 census for Hendricks County, Indiana.[2]

Barbara was born in 1777. She passed away in 1850.
