Biography

He served in the Third Regiment during the War of 1812

Named in his father's will:

"Record of Wills, Book A 1800-1825 Onslow County, North Carolina In the name of God, Amen: I, Henry Horn of the County of Onslow and State of North Carolina, being sick in body but in perfect mind and memory and calling to mind the mortality of mankind and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, I make and ordain this my last will and testament and first of all, I recommend my soul to Almighty God who gave it and my body to be buried in the earth in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my executors, and after all my just debts and funeral charges is paid, then the rest of my worldly estate that it hath been pleased God to endow me with, I give, bequeath, demise and dispose of as follows:

ITEM: I leave to Hillkiah Horn fifty dollars in money to be paid to him when raised out of my estate or collected, it being the full part of my estate that I intend to give him.
ITEM: I lend to my beloved wife Sereanne Horn the privelage of all my land and plantation enduring her natural life and also as many of the best of my plantation tools as may be sufficient for the support of the plantation and her family. Also, my two mares, my best saddle and her side saddle, also my still and four cows and calves and two feather beds and furniture and one horse cart, all of which I lend to my beloved wife enduring her natural life and no longer and after her decease, all the above mentioned property that I have lent to her, I then leave to be sold together with all my lands and the money arising equally devided amongst my children as they shall come of age, to wit: Hardy, Alfred, Seraney, Javie, Boney, Thomas, Benjamen, Writa, Sinna, Rella, and the remainder part of my estate that is not mentioned herein my will, I leave to be sold and the money equally divided amongst my ten children last mentioned and paid to them as they shall come to age. I also appoint my trusty friends Nathan Waller and John Waller the sole executors to this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal this the 7th day of December 1810.
