Han boede ved folketællingen i 1801 hos sin moders farbror sognedegn og skoleholder Hans Severin Laurberg i Sevel by. Han angives at være “et nyt barn i information”.
1840 bor han sammen med sin mor i et hus i Sevel og angives at leve af sin jordlod uden for hjemmet.
