Garton Mallam Horsley was born in 1859 in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.
Garton was the son of Francis Horsley and Mary Mallam.
In 1861 Francis Horsley is hard-pressed: He is a widower with a one month old son as well as a slightly older child Garton Horsley 1. Three visitors (one of them his youngest brother Thomas Horsley 23 and another a sister-in-law Clare Mallam 26) and two nurses are there to help him but he also has a shop to run with two assistants, two servants, a milliner and a dressmaker to direct. There are also three more assistants (male) an apprentice and a porter in the next property. [1]
Garton Mallam Horsley died 14 Feb 1888 in Queensland, Australia. He shot himself dead.
