Biography

Maria was born in 1823 to Richard Horsley and Hannah Gorwood. ^[1] She married George Middleton in 1842 ^[2] and they had ten children. ^[3] Maria passed away in 1895.

There is a monument in the Salem United Cemetery which reads as follows: "In loving memory of George Middleton 1817 - 1903 his wife Maria Horsley 1823 - 1895 their grandchildren Alice 1904 - 1916 Roy 1902 - 1902 Howard 1915 - 1916"^[4]
