Moses was born in about 1717 probably at Rehoboth, Massachusetts, the son of Solomon and Susannah (Babcock) Horton.[1]
Moses married Rebecca Church at Dighton in 1742.[1] In 1747, they were of Newport, Rhode Island. From 1752 until 1760, the owned land and recorded children in Swansea, Massachusetts. In 1774, they were enumerated in the census at Barrington, Rhode Island. In 1790, they were enumerated at Ashford, Connecticut.
Moses passed away at Ashford in 1794.[1] The distribution of his estate recorded 28 November 1795 includes pieces granted to
Mayflower Families names the Dighton town records, volume 1, page 156 as the source for the marriage data. A copy of these records is at American Ancestors. A look at page 156 shows marriages from the correct year, but there is no entry for Moses Horton and Rebecca Church. The original town book should be consulted to see if this was an oversight when the transcription was made.
