Biography

John Horton, son of Jos. Horton & Ann, was baptised on 26 October 1735 in Tipton, Staffordshire, England.[1]

John Horton married Abigail Tipper on 3 July 1750 in Walsall, Staffordshire, England.[2]

Research Notes

The John christened in 1735 is very unlikely to be the same man who married in a different parish in 1750 - he would only have been 15.

The man who married in Walsall is more likely to be John Horton, son of Thomas Horton & Mary, who was baptised on 14 October 1731 in Walsall, Staffordshire, England,[3] or John Horton, son of John Horton & Mary, who was baptised on 31 December 1726 in Walsall, Staffordshire, England.[4]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
