NEW NEWS! I read an article in NEHGS and googled HORTON SURNAME PROJECT and found something very interesting and really a shock to the system! This article was written in 2018.

It has always been believed that Richard Horton (1727-1773) was a son to Caleb (1687-1772), who was a son to Barnabas (married to Sarah Hines or Wines), who was a son to Caleb (1642-1702) who was a son to Barnabas (1600-1680). Guess what! According to the Horton Surname Project and DNA, this is no longer true! I am in contact with Jacqueline Dinan, the author of "In Search of Barnabas Horton" and she has been helping me a great deal. She has taken an active roll in the search (more than I am able to) due to her husband also being of Richard's line, believing he was of Barnabas line of Horton's. So I am now searching for information regarding Richard Horton right along with Ms Dinan. If anyone finds information please email me with it.

Horton-5488 and Horton-186 appear to represent the same person because: These have matching spouses and similar dates. Please review sources to verify whether they are the same people and may need to be merged. Thank you!
