Simeon was born in about 1749 probably in Swansea, Massachusetts, the son of Moses Horton and Rebeckah Church.[1]
Simeon passed away sometime between 1790 and 1795, since he was enumerated at Barrington in the 1790 US federal census, but was recorded as deceased when his father's estate was distributed on 28 November 1795.[1]
Simeon's father was a boatman of Newport, Rhode Island in 1747 when he bought land in Swansea from Nicholas Thomas. The births of Simeon's younger siblings were recorded at Swansea starting in 1752, so it seems probably that the family moved shortly after 1747 and that Simeon was also born at Swansea.
