Biography

John Horton was born in Jan 1893 in Tennessee, United States.[1][2]

In the 1900 US census, John Horton (7) was living in Sullivan, Tennessee, with parents John M Horton (50) and Martha E Horton (38), and step-siblings David Hocket (17) and Charles L Hocket (10).[1]

Martha Horton was apparently not his mother, as she married John Horton in 1897 after John was born. His mother is listed here as Nancy Roberts, who was also mother of Lillian Alma Hall.

According to the information posted on Find A Grave, John Horton changed his name to William Hairisen (later Harrison) after he left ("fled") Tennessee for Ohio with Lillian Alma Hall in 1919. They married and had children. After they separated, he began using his birth name of John Horton again.- bio written by grandson R.L. Morris.[2]

John A Horton died in 1961, and was buried at Association Cemetery, Sylvania, Lucas County, Ohio, United States.[2]
