Corporal Samuel Horton served in the United States Civil War. Enlisted: Aug 15, 1862 Mustered out: June 12 1865 Side: USA Regiment(s): 9th Regiment, Minnesota Infantry, Co F
In 1862, Samuel enlisted with his brother Thomas in the Minnesota 9th Infantry for the Civil War. Thomas died in Mississippi in Feb 1865. Samuel was wounded at Nashville and discharged in June 1865. [3]
After the war Samuel and his family lived in Rochester Minnesota. In 1873 they moved to Oregon.
