I was born July 27, 1981 at 6:14 pm at Newman's Hospital in Emporia, Lyon County, Kansas to Thomas W. Hoskins and Roberta F. Cook (now Crabb). At the age of six months, my parents separated and divorced. My mom and I were living with my grandparents at the time she met her second husband and my adoptive father, Jay E. Bartlett. They were married on February 11, 1984 and nine months later, I greeted my younger brother, Joshua.
My family and I moved around a bit. We lived in places such as: Topeka, Kansas; Emporia, Kansas; Louisburg, Kansas; Aurora, Colorado; Englewood, Colorado; Denver, Colorado; and Northglenn, Colorado. We did a lot of sight seeing as well such as Garden of the Gods, Cave of Winds, Seven Falls, Worlds of Fun, etc. My brother and I also visited my grandparents every summer and sometimes on Christmas break. I was told at around the age of 5 that I was adopted by my step-grandmother, Carol. My mom told me what she could at that time and finished it when I was older. At the age of 14, my parents separated and divorced. My mom moved out to Aurora, Colorado and my father stayed in Louisburg, Kansas so that Josh and I could finish school. Six months later, I joined my mom in Colorado and Josh stayed with my father.
I was able to meet some of my biological father's family once I turned 17. At this time I was told that there was a possibility that I had an older sister, Shannon, from my biological father. I say that only because there is no physical evidence as of yet to prove the story. I found out a lot of my biological father including a lot of problems that he had. I was engaged twice before finally entering into a common law marriage in 2003 with Eduardo Adame. We were legally married in 2009 and separated a year later, still pending a divorce. We share four beautiful children together: E. Michael, Allie, Jade, and Faith. I am currently engaged to Jeremy Long from Kentucky. We met online in 2010 and entered into a full relationship in June of 2011. He has never been married nor has any children.
I look at my situation as a very fortunate situation. With one act, I have a huge family that I am very proud of. I have a wonderful Dad, Mike, who married my mom in 2003. My momma who has always been by my side and works with me on the family genealogy. I have siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. I couldn't ask for a better family. Now, I get to find all of my extended family members through WikiTree.
I graduated from Northern Heights High School in May of 1999 in a class of 50 people. I was involved in choir for 4 years, Drama for 1 year, Speech for 2 years, Pep Club for 1 year, and excelled in English, Music, and Speech. I was on the B Honor Roll and graduated with a credit over the required 22 credits.
I was scheduled to attend Emporia State University and projected to graduate in 2003. However, after visiting Colorado that summer after graduation, decided to take a break from school and begin to work. All the jobs I held were Customer Service related and excelled in every job I had including scoring 100% in customer satisfaction surveys.
In 2009, I decided to go to college and attended Colorado Technical University for my associates degree in Criminal Justice. I graduated in October of 2010. I was on the Dean's list at the time of graduation. Unfortunately due to funding and medical, I was unable to finish my bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. I was four classes away from graduation.
I ran a publications and advertising company from 2011 to 2015 called Forge Publications. Due to growing demand, the company expanded from one magazine to three magazines. Sadly, due to funding issues, the company closed in 2015.
I currently am a stay at home mom while working as a freelance genealogist and online graphics designer. I am also currently working on a book series based off of role-play experience and a cook book.

So because of my adoption, this section will be a little weird.

re Alvord-348 and -483 (wow - even their id's are anagrams!) I have a family record that was in my grandfather's papers Lloyd Judd, showing that Mary Alvord (parents Thomas and Submit Bishop) married Thomas Judd and had many children. Can I send it to you and maybe you can help me figure out what it is and where it came from? If it can be verified then maybe the two Alvord files can be merged...Thanks. Lara
