1914-2002 Roberta Korsmeyer Roberta M. Korsmeyer, age 87, of Alhambra passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at St. Joseph Hospital in Highland. She was born on Dec. 3, 1914, in Alhambra, the daughter of the late Carl and May Henschen Hosto. She married Elmer Korsmeyer on Dec. 3, 1937, at Salem Church in Alhambra. He preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1990. Mrs. Korsmeyer attended Gehrig's school. Her memberships included Salem United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School and was part of the Women's Guild. Other memberships included the Salem Quilters and Salem Senior Citizens, She loved to bake and sew, and she especially enjoyed playing cards and doing things for other people. She is survived by two sons: Delmar Korsmeyer and wife, Marlene, and Laverne Korsmeyer and wife, Marilyn, all of Alhambra; a daughter: Ruth Rogier and husband, Everett of Highland; a brother: LeRoy Hosto of Alhambra; eight grandchilden: Jayne Roper and husband, Steve Dean Korsmeyer and wife, Sherri, Timothy Rogier and wife, Kim, Kenneth Korsmeyer and wife, Janice, Randy Rogier and wife, Tracy, Joel Rogier and wife, Tina, Melanie Bonnell and husband, Justin and Karen Straube and husband, Brian; and six great-grandchildren; Megan, Emily, and Katlyn Rogier, and Addison Taylor and Amanda Korsmeyer. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister: Velma DeVries. Visitation was on Friday evening, Sept. 20, and Saturday morning, Sept. 21, at Salem United Church of Christ in Alhambra. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the church. Rev. Dr. Gladys Herzog, pastor, officiated. Interment was at Salem Cemetery in Alhambra. Pallbearers were Dean Korsmeyer, Timothy Rogier, Kenneth Korsmeyer, Randy Rogier, Joel Rogier, Steve Roper, Justin Bonnell, and Brian Straube. Memorials are suggested to the Salem Church Memorial Fund. Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra was in charge of arrangements.
