Biography

Archie married Sarah Mason SHUTE (13 Feb 1929 -17 Feb 1979 Monroe, NC) dau of John Raymond SHUTE, Jr. and Sarah (MASON). Due to Archie’s mother’s dissatisfaction, they were only together a few months. Sarah later md a SOMMERS. There is no indication he ever remarried

In 1940 he signed a WWII Draft Enlistment Card #302. After the war he worked as a locomotive Engineer and fireman for Seaboard Air Line Railway out of Richmond Co., NC.

Archie also became a classic car enthusiast and an outgoing sociable character. as seen in this newspaper photo he contributed:

He lived and cared for his strict mother until her death at age 94 and in late 1996 or early 1997 Archie began a relationship with a lady named Caroline ??? of Columbia with whom he alternately spent time in their own homes. They may or may not have md. Archie is buried at Suncrest Cem., Monroe.
