Elijah was born June 16 1728. He was a "minute man" of the Revolutionary period and served in Col. Benjamin Houghton's company. The Houghton Geneology, and multiple other sources refers to him as "Captain Elijah". but the DAR has him as a private and doesn't have any other Elijah's at the rank of Captain, #A057410.[1]
Elijah appears to have two wives, the DAR has them as Katherine Sparhawk and Mary Allen, m. Oct 3 1764, Lancaster, which also explains one of his chidren's name.
