DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Benjamin by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Benjamin:

I've updated the children's info based on the Houghton Surname project. The parents/lineage for Benjamin as son of Jacob and Rebecca comes from there and seems to be more reliable than the Houghton Genealogy book

Agree with the comment below, the descent from John the immigrant & Beatrix in JW Houghton (granted, it has many errors) is actually this:

John immigrant & Beatrix

-Ben Sr #7 b. 1663, m. Zermiah Moore (pg 301)

--Ben Jr. #50 b. 1700, d. 1776, m. 1720 Ruth Wheelock (pg 306)

---Lemuel #137 b. 25 Sep 1735, m. Dinah Osgood (pg 312, 313)

Samuel b. 1762 Westminster not listed

Wanted to note that the information from the Houghton Genealogy should be verified. For example, Benjamin Houghton who married Priscilla Wilder is more likely Benjamin, son of Benjamin and Zerviah Moore...his widow married a Harrington not a Remingon. Unfortunately, a probate record doesn't seem to be around.

Entered Lemuel Houghton as son. Several citations Ancestry.com and listed in Houghton Surname Project.
