Ezra, b. 7, 2, 1722 ; m. 7, 29, 1748. Dinah, dau. of Benjamin Houghton and Zermiah Moore. He, with his younger brother, Benjamin, assisted in laying out the highways in 1758.
Abijah, b. 1723; m. 1746. Alice Joslyn, d. 6, 23, 1802. He was known as Trumpeter Abijah Houghton. He enlisted in April, 1775, and served six months as private and sergeant in Capt. Andrew Haskell's Company of Col. John Witcomb's regt. He turned out at the Lexington alarm and received both bayonet and bullet wounds.
↑ According to the Houghton Surname Project, Abigail appears to be a conflation of different people, including her sister Relief, and brother Abijah, and probably does not exist

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Benjamin by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Benjamin:
Houghton-1444 and Houghton-1717 appear to represent the same person because: Spread to be the same person. Same father, birth dateand place, death date, etc.
I've updated the children's info based on the Houghton Surname project. The parents/lineage for Benjamin as son of Jacob and Rebecca comes from there and seems to be more reliable than the Houghton Genealogy book
Wanted to note that the information from the Houghton Genealogy should be verified. For example, Benjamin Houghton who married Priscilla Wilder is more likely Benjamin, son of Benjamin and Zerviah Moore...his widow married a Harrington not a Remingon. Unfortunately, a probate record doesn't seem to be around.
