Married Martha Andrews in 1939^[2] Shortly after their marriage, Laurence was involved in an incident with his brother, ??, and his father-in-law, Daniel Craig Miller Andrews where he was deemed to be intoxicated and oddly enough, although it was agreed he was not in charge of the vehicle he owned, because it was his vehicle and he was intoxicated at the time, he was charged^[3]

The couple had one child:

He died while a prisoner of war, being shot while attempting to escape from a POW camp in Greece aged just 25 in 1942 ^{[4] [5][6]}
