Biography

The church register gives his birth as June 14, 1759,[1] while Find A Grave has June 14, 1761. The Find A Grave memorial gives his wife as Mary Severn. He is listed in the 1840 census as a Revolutionary War pensioner, aged 81.[2] Some genealogies say he married Margaret Blauvelt. Both John Houses were in the West Nyack area.
