Ossie was born about 1888. She is the daughter of Jeremiah Houser and Emma Bartlet.

This was a second marriage for LeRoy, whose first wife was Bessie L. Sypher (marriage in 1897), and mother of his children, died suddenly21 July 1908.

By the 1920 Census only LeRoy and Bessie's children Vera and Ruth remained in the household.

LeRoy and Ossie had no children.

The 1920 Census has the LeRoy Hunter family in Gregg Township, Union County; LeRoy (age 41); Telegraph Operator - Railroad; Ocie (age 31) wife; Vera W. (age 17); Ruth (age 15).

The 1930 Census has the LeRoy Hunter family in the same location; LeRoy (age 52); Operator - Steam Railroad; Ocie (age 42). No children at home.

The 1940 Census has Ocie Hunter staying with farmer David Farley, employed as "House Keeper," (Ocie age 51.)

Her husband LeRoy Hunter died 30 March 1937.

DEATH AND BURIAL

Ossie died 29 Jan 1948 of myocarditis; she is buried at White Deer Baptist Cemetery, Allenwood, Gregg, Union County, PA. [1]
