Research Notes

• There were originally two profiles for Lettie, and both showed her mother as Mary (Todd) Houser. One of the showed Finley Houser as her father; the other William Houser. Because Lydia is shown in Finley's household at the time of the 1850 Census^[1], I've merged the profiles and kept Finley as her father. -- Fiscus-32 02:33, 8 February 2019 (UTC)

• In 1870, Jane is widowed and continuing to live in Lawrence County, Tennessee. She has two daughters, Mary and Annie.^[2]

• In the 1880 Census, she is married to "Red" Gooch and appears to be using her first name of Lydia again.^[3]

• In the 1900 Census, Jane says that she's the mother of three children, and two are living.^[4]
