It seems likely that her given name was Obedience, for which 'Beady' was a common nickname. Her putative brother William Starling Houston also named one of his own daughters Beady.
Not certain to have been John Houston's daughter, but as his was the only Houston family resident in Robeson county at the time she married, there are few other options. Angus and Beady also moved their family to Smith co., MS as did the entire Houston clan.

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Beady by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
