Biography

Isaac Hovey was born Oct 4 1782 in Mansfield, Connecticut. His parents were Joseph Hovey and Eunice Williams. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

From "The History and Genealogy of the GURLEY FAMILY": ^[4]

"Dr. Isaac Hovey, occupation: 1st, a merchant, 2nd, doctor and farmer. Dr. Isaac Hovey was born Ocotber 1, 1872 and was the son of Isaac Hovey and Penelope Tillinghast."

He married Abigail Gurley Sep 18 1823. Abigail was the dau of Artemas Gurley and Sarah Steele. She died Apr 23 1877, age 78. ^[4]

He was a physician. They later moved to Morrisville, New York and Deansville, New York. ^[4]

He died Oct 24 1865, age 83. ^[1]

He is buried in Deansboro Cemetery, Densboro, Oneida, New York ^[5]

He was also married to Penelope Hovey, BIRTH 1789, DEATH 1822.
