James Howard was born on 12 Aug 1744 in St Albans, Hertfordshire, England, son of John Howard and Sarah (Smallwood) Howard.

James married Ruth Willmott at St. Bartholomew the Less, London, England, 26/10/1766.

James's child James Howard was baptised on 27 August 1775 in St Albans, Hertfordshire, England.[1]

James died on 22 Nov 1785 in St Albans aged 41. James Howard 'of St Julians' was buried 22 Nov 1785 St Albans St Stephen

Research Notes

James Howard was the 4xgreat grandfather of Australian Prime Minister John Howard.

Also other children John 14/10/1733, Judith 31/8/1735, Grace 18/7/1736, Susanna 13/1/1740, Sarah 20/6/1741, john 4/1/1742, Elisabeth 24/3/1745

There are three possible baptisms: James to John St Albans 30/9/1733, James to John 24/7/1737, and James to John Howard at St Albans st Peter 12/8/1744. These appear all to be to the same father - John Howard married Sarah Smallwood in 1729.
