Biography

Flag of Yorkshire (adopted 2008)
Annie (Howard) Fuller was born in Yorkshire, England.
Annie was born in 1886 in the Union Workhouse, Whitby, Yorkshire, England.[1] She was the daughter of Lucy Howard.

By 1891, Annie and her younger half-sister Louisa were living with their uncle, Thomas Howard, and his common-law wife, Sarah Strong, at 8 Links Terrace, Kettering, Northamptonshire.[2] Aged 14 in 1901, Annie was working as a boot machinist.[3]

She married Arthur Fuller in 1910 in Kettering.[4][5] At the time of the 1911 census the family lived at 37 Kitson Street in Leeds, West Riding of Yorkshire, England. Arthur worked as a "clicker" in the boot and shoemaking industry.[6]

They had moved to Caroline Terrace, Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire, by the time Arthur enlisted in the Army in 1916.[7] The Fullers lived on Spencer Street in Burton by 1921, when Arthur worked as a clicker for Whitney & Westley (on Finedon Street in the same village).[8] At the time of the 1939 register, the family lived at 15 Spencer Street. Arthur worked as a clicking sorter.[9]

Arthur died in 1961.[10] Annie died in 1973 in hospital in Kettering.[11] Both were buried in Burton Latimer.[12]
