John Howard arrived in Australia on the 20 January 1864 aboard the Ocean Empress which left Liverpool on the 16 October 1863. He was a labourer and married Annie Callaby? on the 28th June 1868 in the roman catholic church in Singleton. He died on the 21 December 1912 at the age of 73. He is buried in the Roman Catholic cemetery in Jerry's Plains with his wife Annie and son Anthony. They had 12 children.
