Ann Howard was born on 13 Mar 1789 at Stalybridge, Cheshire, England. She was the daughter of John Howard and his wife Betty, née Greaves, who had been married at Mottram in Longdendale on 24 Jan 1788.[1][2]
Ann was baptized on 17 Apr 1789 at Mossley Chapel.[3]
Marriage
Ann married Edward Vaudrey, the son of Thomas Vaudrey and his wife Ann, née Turner, who had been married at Manchester Cathedral on 31 Aug 1783. Ann wed Edward at the church of St. Michael and All Angels, Ashton under Lyne, on 20 Jan 1813. Witnesses were John Vaudrey (possibly Edward's older brother) and Ralph Howard (possibly Ann's younger brother).[4][5]
Children
Ann and Edward's first child was William, who was born at Dukinfield, Cheshire, in 1813. William was baptized on 21 Nov 1813 at the Old St George Chapel in Stalybridge, Cheshire. The record lists the family's abode as Duckenfield.[6]
Ann and Edward's second child was James, who was born at Dukinfield, Cheshire, about 1815.
So far, I have been unable to find any baptism record for James. His birth date is estimated from his 1851 census record.[7]
