No record has been found of the birth of Simeon Howard, and nothing is known of his ancestry. From his age at his death on his gravestone, he was born about 1777.[1] According to the 1874 history of Livermore, Maine, he was from Sutton, Massachusetts,[2] and was a brother of Lydia (Howard) Bemis.[3] He may be the Simeon Howard baptized at Dudley, Massachusetts, on 4 Jun 1780, the son of Simeon Howard;[4] Dudley is only about 12 miles from Sutton.
Marriage
On 10 Mar 1801, Simeon Howard and Susanna Merrill, both of Livermore, Maine (then in Massachusetts) published at Livermore their intention to marry, and they married there on 29 Mar 1801.[5]
Death
Simeon Howard died on 22 Jan 1840, and he is buried at the Hillman Ferry Cemetery in Livermore, Maine, where his gravestone gives his age at his death as 62.[1]
