I find that Thomas Howard Sr. was married to Letitia Durham (Hatchett Grey). James was their son. More research need done.

There were no 'Cherokee benefits' when this man was alive, there was a Cherokee NATION. This ancestry needs a lot of fact checking and documentation. Very unlikely that someone born in Georgia got married to someone in Virginia and the another woman in Kentucky.

Looks like multiple men with the same name have been combined through the magic of the Internet.

Howard-6959 and Howard-3435 appear to represent the same person because: What a mess! James and his brother Thomas apparently lied about their age in order to receive a Revolutionary War pension. Some census records have the earlier birth dates but later have them 20 years older. I believe the 1772 date is correct according to "The Salyer Family" by Elizabeth Salyer. If you want me to scan in the pages, send me your email address. Sue

Allen-15134 and Howard-3435 do not represent the same person because: Hi Pat, merging means they are the same person. What did you mean to do? I will help you. Sue
