John was baptised on 9 July 1815 in Titchfield, Hampshire, England.[1]
On 1 January 1837 John married Sarah Hoare in Southampton St Marys, Hampshire, England.[2] He was 21 years old.
The 1841 England and Wales Census shows the couple and two children living in Millbrook, Hampshire, England.[3] John was 25 years old.
The 1851 England and Wales Census shows the couple and four children living in Alverstoke, Hampshire, England.[4] John was 35 years old and was working as a Soda Water Bottler.
The 1861 England, Scotland and Wales Census shows John as a member of the crew of the SS Great Eastern, a British sailing steamship designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and launched in 1858.[5] John was 46 years old and was working as a Storeman.
John passed away about 1878.
