HOWARD, Mr. Robert L., Jr. - Age 49, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010 at U of M Hospital. Family hour 10 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 4805 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m., Dr. Henry L. Fuller, Jr., officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Howard now lies in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2-8 p.m. today. Mr. Robert Lawrence Howard, Jr. was born July 11, 1960 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Robert L. Howard and Nora L. Howard. Robert grew up in Flint, attending Flint Public Schools and graduating from Flint Central "Class of 1978". He enjoyed fishing, playing dominos, spending time with family and friends until his health failed. Robert had a big heart and loved his family and friends very much. He leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Nora Howard; 2 sisters, Angela McNeal and Pamela (Victor) Phillips; 2 brothers, Richard (Vera) McNeal and Michael Howard; several uncles; a host of cousins including special cousins, Glen McNeal, David McNeal, Harold (Rose) McNeal, Donald (Deborah) McNeal, Leonard McNeal and Danny (Bernice) McNeal; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Gary "Squirt" Harrison and the Harrison family, Vivian Pittman, James "Squeaky" Crayton, Jr., and Marilyn Fisher. Mr. Howard was preceded in death by his father, Robert Howard, Sr.; grandmother, Nadine Washington; sister, Gwen Howard; and 2 aunts, Judy Bird and Ruby McNeal. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of U of M Hospital Cardiac Wing of Ann Arbor, MI, Dr. Henry L. Fuller, Jr., and the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church family.
