George was born on 20 Dec 1886 in Gilmore City, Humboldt, Iowa. His parents were Jessie Howe and Ida Mae Wagley. He was the second of ten children. His siblings were:
Lois Howe[3] Lois' middle name is actually spelled Berle.
Stanley Howe No living relative has any knowledge of Stanley. It is likely that he is not George's son since he and Lola divorced before Stanley was born. George appears on Stanley's birth record as his father.[4]
George registered for the World War I draft, but was not called to serve.[5]
On 13 May 1920 George and Lola were divorced.[6] George was award the divorce on the grounds of cruel and inhuman treatment. On 24 Oct 1925, George married Lillian Yockem[citation needed] Together they had two children who are still living. They eventually moved to Dixon, Lee, Illinois where George lived out his life.
Death and Burial
George died on 5 Nov 1960 in Belvidere, Boone, Illinois. He is buried in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon, Illinois.[7]
