Lucy was born in 1814. She was the daughter of James Howe and Sabina Benson. She passed away in 1883.
Lucy was baptised on 17 Jul 1814 at Pavenham, Bedfordshire, the daughter of James and Sybil How.[1]
She married James Tysoe at Stevington on 12 Oct 1831[2]
In 1841 they were living in Stevington - James Tyso 25 ie 25-29 labourer; Lucy Tysoe Lace maker 25; Betsy Tyso 7; Sarah Tyso 6; Joel Tyso 2. All born in Bedfordshire.[3]
They emigrated in 1845, and arrived in Sydney, Australia on 31 Mar 1845 on the Elizabeth. The family group consisted of James 33, Lucy 31, Joel 5, Elizabeth 11, Sarah 9, Mary Ann 3.[4]. They settled in Armidale, New South Wales where James Tysoe became a carpenter and then publican at the Crown Inn and the St Kilda Hotel, a Council alderman, prominent Freemason and respected town elder. [5]
