Born in Marlborough on 27 Apr 1700. He married on 29 May 1733 Mary Reed, daughter of Ralph and Mary Reed of Woburn, Mass. They moved to Lancaster (the part afterward set off as Bolton, and now included in Berlin), deeding land there with other members of his family on 22 Dec 1729. From Church records, he and his wife "owned the covenant" at Lancaster on 22 Sep 1734. The children were born in Bolton but reared in Woburn.
Probate
David Howe of Bolton, yeoman died intestate and on 26 December 1746, his widow Mary was granted the administration of his estate.[1] On 2 February 1746/7, John Reed of Woburn was granted the administration of his estate.[2][3]
In 1751, an account of his estate by John Reed was recorded which included debts due the estate, debts paid, appraisers, doctors, clothing for the children (Artemis How, Mary How, Levi How, and Elizabeth How), schooling for the children, and administration fees.[2][5] In 1755, another account of his estate was recorded which included renting out the farm, repairs to the house and making a stone wall, and the balance from the last account.[2]
