Biography

Married 3 Jul 1848 Pamela J. Soper of Dorset, Vermont, daughter of John and Eliza (Viall) Soper. He received his early education in the common schools of Manchester, Vermont. He began his marble business in South Dorset, Vermont in 1853 and afterwards in Northfield, Vermont. He was appointed Postmaster at South Dorset in 1850 and held the post for five years.. He served as deputy sheriff at Washington County for 20 years and in 1890 he was appointed high sheriff, holding that office for four years. They had three children [TO BE ADDED. SEE REFERENCE][1]
