Biography
Lafayette was born in 1840. Genealogies seem to refer to him as Marquis Dudley Lafayette Howell, or even Marcus Dudley Lafayette, however no record with that name has been located. According to U.S., Civil War Soldier Records and Profiles, 1861-1865 Lafayette was Marquis D'Lafayette Howell. He was the son of Russell Howell and Elizabeth Johnson. In 1850 they are enumerated on the federal census in Yalobusha County, Mississippi. [1] He passed away in 1912. [2]
