Biography
Isaac Howell was born in 1831 in Ham, Surrey, England, the second son of John and Ann Howell.
He arrived in New Zealand with his family on the Lord William Bentinck in 1841 at the age of ten.
Isaac married Christina née Gilbert and they had 10 children: 4 sons and 6 daughters. Their children are all born in New Zealand from 1858 to 1876. They are shown as early settlers on their joint gravestone in Puketapu cemetery in Hastings, New Zealand.
He passed away in 1920 in Hastings, New Zealand and is buried in the Puketapu Cemetery [1].
