Edward married Isabella Rutherford on 20 June 1864 at St Cuthberts, Edinburgh[1] as reported in a Dundee newspaper on 28 June[2]
In 1871, he was living at 5 Brighton Terrace, Duddingston, Edinburgh with his wife and daughters, Jessie and Isabella. His occupation was listed as "Salesman Cabinet & Upholstery"[3]
In 1881, they had moved to Inglebank, Lenzie Road, Kirkintilloch, but on the date of the census, Edward, a Home Furnisher, was visiting London, staying at the Imperial Hotel.[4]
In 1891, Edward and his two daughters were still living at Inglebank. He is reported as a Home and Ship Furnisher. His wife had died and his son, Alexander was an Arts Student in Edinburgh.[5]
He died in 1892.
