Elizabeth "Eliza" Howes (per John A. House) was born about 1808 per the 1850 census or about 1807 per the 1860 census and died sometime after the 1860 census was enumerated. Her name was Robinson when she married William Sheppard on March 23, 1830. As she was older than William, it's possible she could have been previously married. In the 1860 census she was living with her brother Joseph Howes. The 1840 census indicates there was another son born during 1835-1840, probably about 1835-36. This son doesn't appear in her household in the 1850 census.
