December 29, at the residence of Andrew McDonald, Argyle, Robert Howie, died in the 76th year of his age. Mr. Howie was a native of Argyleshire, Scotland. At an early day, he emigrated to this country and became one of the founders of the Scotch Church and Settlement at Willow Creek.
For thirty-three years he was a ruling elder and one of the most liberal supporters of the church. The money and ground upon which the church edifice stands were his gifts.
