Birth

Mary Howland was born about 1643 in Duxbury, Plymouth Colony.[1]

Marriage

Mary Howland married Capt. James Cudworth about 1664. Her husband was baptized on 3 May 1635 at First Parish Church in Scituate, Plymouth Colony, and he was the son of Gen. James Cudworth and Mary Parker.[2] He died on 17 December 1697 in Scituate, Plymouth County, Massachusetts Bay and was buried at First Parish Cemetery in Scituate.

Children

The births of James and Mary’s children were all recorded at the Society of Friends of Pembroke. Apparently, they adhered to the Quaker faith at that point in their lives.

  5. John Cudworth (2 May 1674 - abt. 1755)
  6. Elizabeth Cudworth (4 Mar 1677 - aft. 10 May 1730)
  7. Abigail Cudworth (9 Mar 1680 - 8 Apr 1750)

Death

Widow Mary Cudworth died sometime before 5 January 1699 in Scituate, Plymouth County, Massachusetts Bay.

Legacies

Widow Mary Cudworth's will was dated 4 November 1699 and proved on 23 January 1699/00 in Plymouth. She left legacies to sons James and John, and daughters Mary, Sarah, Joanna Colman, Elizabeth, and Abigail. Her inventory was taken on 5 January 1699/00.[3]

On 4 March 1702, her son, John Cudworth was granted the letter of administration on her estate that was her had been her late husband's estate.[4]

Howland-2550 and Howland-100 appear to represent the same person because: They have the same parents, brothers and sisters, and husband. The only difference is their date of birth.
