Nicholas was the eldest son of Samuel and Sarah Howland. He married Mary Sesson, daughter of Jonathan and Mary Sesson of Dartmouth, on 4d 11m 1750/1 [4 Jan 1751].[1] Nicholas, Mary, and their 8 children lived in Westport on the family farm located on the east side of the Westport River, 2.5 miles from the village center.
