Jedediah Howland[1] was born 31 August 1685.

Marriage

Newport Friends records recorded, “Jedadiah Howland son of Joseph Howland of Duxbury, Mass. —& Mary Newberry daughter of Walter Newberry were married in Friends meeting House in Newport, R I 23, 7, or Sept. 1709.”

Issue

Jedediah Howland and Mary Newberry had one known child.

  1. ”Joseph Howland son of Jedediah Howland & Mary his wife was born in Newport, R I 25th of 10th mo. 1710.”

Life

Jedediah Howland was admitted freeman of Newport, Rhode Island in 1710, having probably taken up his residence there at the time of his marriage. A history of Duxbury refers to him as of Little Compton, Rhode Island. He owned land there and may have been a resident of the town at some period.

We know nothing more of the descendants of his son, Joseph Howland.

Death

“Jeadadiah Howland aged about 26 years, departed this life in Newport on Rhode Island, ye 5th day of ye 10th mo 1711.”
