Mildred was born in 1917. She was the daughter of Avalon Howse and Ruth Feltham. She passed away in 2008.

Obituary

HOWSE, Mildred Nina — Formerly of Mt. Pearl and Glovertown, N.L., passed peacefully away on Friday, April 25, 2008 at the Escasoni Nursing Home at the age of 91 years old. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 60 years Douglas Stewart Howse; sons: Keith (Dianne), Mt. Pearl; Douglas Jr., St. John’s; daughter Barbara Schmeisser (Bob) Halifax, N.S.; grandchildren Scott Schmeisser (Ceri), Montreal, PQ.; Shawn Schmeisser (Denise), Halifax, N.S.; Allyson Howse, Halifax, N.S.; Leslie Howse, South Korea. Fondly remembered by brothers Lloyd Howse (Faye), Toronto, ON; Charles Howse (Frances), St. John’s, N.L., brother-in-law Charles Howse, Corner Brook, N.L.; sisters-in-law Doris Howse, ON, and Vera Howse, Glovertown, N.L., plus a large number of nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by sisters: Gwen, Pearl and Francis, and brother Rev. John Howse. Special thanks to the staff of 2 East and West of the Escasoni Nursing Home for their care and support. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., St. John’s, N.L., A1E 1J9, on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Monday, April 28 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Church, Mt. Pearl. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mildred’s memory may be made to the Epilepsy of N.L. Foundation or a charity of choice.
