James C. "Jim" Howton[1] was born about 1825 in Alabama.[2]
He married Margaret A. "Peggy" Gilmore on 11 Nov 1844 in Jefferson County, Alabama[3] and the couple had the following known children:
William C. Howton was born about 1845 in Alabama.[2]
Samuel Lewis Howton was born in Alabama 12 Jan 1846 and died 28 Dec 1930 in Bessemer, Jefferson County, Alabama.[1][2]
